South African National Parks - Thatch Project

We were contracted to construct a thatch to be used for parking bays for the Senior Executive and Managing Director of Sanparks in Gloenkloof National Park, Pretoria.
We started building the Thatch on 02nd July 2011. Our work specification was to demolish the existing structure and start building a new structure to house a twelve motor vehicle parking bay. We completed the demolition works on 05th July 2011 and started on  planting the structural gum poles on 06th July 2011. On 08th July 2011, we started on the roof structure and completed this on the 11th July 2011. The grass laying works started on the 12th July 2011. This project is scheduled to be fully completed on 17th July 2011, exactly two weeks after commencement. We have received praise for the professionalism, work ethics and safety awaremess from Suveer Mewalal (Facilities Manager - Sanparks), Portia Mosikare (GM, Supply Chain Management - Sanparks) and Gregory Lekoma (Supplier Manager - Sanparks)

This project has been completed. The customer is so happy with the quality of work and the fact that we completed the work ahead of schedule that Sanparks has given us more thatching projects to complete within the Groenkloof Nature Reserve. I will put all this information in a new blog. Here is some photos to let everyone know how the new thatch loos upon completion.
